my illustration teacher gave me a great critique on this one concerning the composition so i changed that a bit.

I spent hours messing with the colors on this one though, and I'm still not happy with it. but its time to move on.

Heres the lines and simple values for the next piece I'll be working on.

I've found that putting in the time and effort to get a solid thumbnail and tight lines really pays of during the coloring part, making it a whole lot more fun.

Spent a better half of today painting over my Illustration, so this is hardly a speed painting, but I learned a ton.

I browsed Nathan Fowke's plein air paintings alot so Its probably heavily influnced by his work. He's an amazing artist.

#155 Purple Pants

Unlike many of my other speed paints, I started with a gesture and developed it into pretty detailed line work. I think this allowed me to be more confident during my painting process.

#152 A longer painting

I decided with this one, I wanted to bring the painting much further than I usually do. Just to see what I could get done . The light is doing some strange things but I guess that wasn't really the point of the painting...  Here's the finished painting. About 6 hours from thumbnails to final painting. I'm happy with it :)
