Jon: oh yea, Didn't think about that. good point. thanks!
Taylor: Thanks!
Throughout the painting, whenever I feel the color is off, I open a new layer set to color or overlay or softlight, take a large round soft brush set to low opacity, and just mess around with various warms and cools throughout the painting. I think thats how i get those saturated colors you're talking about. but be carful with these special layer types. they can make or break a painting.
As for the brushstrokes, I'ts probably that last 15% of my painting where im tightenting up edges once im happy with everything else.
Aww, it's so cute. You're at that painting level where your brush strokes are nice and expressive and efficient. :)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I have to say is the twinning of the purple clouds. It makes the composition more static. Otherwise, awesome!! :D
Hell yeah man! This is awesome...you got that clean, saturated color and brushstrokes; you gotta show me how to do that!
